I really wanted to make enough money to live comfortably so I wouldn't have to work for someone else for the next 40 years. I didn’t want to be stuck in the 40/ 40/ 40 rut…. You know- working 40 hours a week for 40 years then retiring with only 40% of the income made while working. (Are you currently in the cycle?)

I wanted to be able to live comfortably, take vacations and have enough money to enjoy the greater things in life while still providing for my family. I didn’t want to sacrifice stability for luxuries.

The thing is, I was having difficulty finding enough time to make a career change that would improve my future financial outlook without sacrificing my current financial obligations... 

That meant I couldn’t live comfortably, take vacations and have enough money to enjoy the greater things in life, let alone still provide for my family.

I knew that I would have to make sacrifices for my future. I had to invest in myself and sometimes I had to sacrifice my current job to gain the education I needed. I called in sick, I stayed up late, and I took every opportunity to learn as much as I could.

To make things worse, I felt terrible because I wasn't sure if I could make this goal a reality. I felt even worse about the situation because I wouldn't be able to give my future family the life, I promised them and knew in my heart they deserved. I felt like a dreamer instead of an action taker.

One of my most memorable days was the day I realized I worked hard and only had $213 in savings. I was possibly one catastrophe away from a complete financial emergency...

I was on the clock to get that necessary education or see my goals squashed forever.

Then, as if by chance, something amazing happened...

I truly looked around and realized how the wealthiest people made their money- it was in real estate! That is how they made their true wealth.

It was now crystal clear to me how to be a financial success. I had to be all in when it came to Real Estate Investing.

I also learned that I didn't need to "be" successful to think like successful people thought, I needed to change my mindset first.

As a result, I contacted everyone I knew and told them I was a Real Estate Investor looking for houses to sell and could offer special financing options. I didn’t care what they thought- I went for it! I thought like a millionaire long before I made my first million. (Wouldn’t you want to think like a millionaire?)

After I did that, I started getting all the leads I could handle.

Suddenly, I was engrossed in the real estate investment business world.

That’s when I realized that the secret to figuring out was HOW the wealthiest people made their money. It was buying and selling properties using as little money as possible for the greatest profits.

My plan was to start contacting everyone I knew to ask them to help me find properties that needed to be sold. I armed myself with confidence and education. I did not allow myself to doubt my goals or my abilities. (Would confidence help you make more money with REI?)

I started reading everything I could find on real estate investing and utilizing the strategies the most successful investors used. 

But I didn’t stop there.

I then made a list of everyone I knew who lived within a 20-mile radius of my house.

After that, I called everyone I knew and asked everyone I met if they had a house for sale or knew of someone who did.

But there was still a problem...

I knew what I wanted to do but I still worked hard to build up the confidence to do it. I knew that in order to be successful I had to change my mindset and start thinking like the people whose success I wanted to mimic thought. 

This meant I had to study and put those steps into action.

I also had to continue working at FedEx until I was financially stable enough to quit my job and continue my career in real estate investing.

I found myself embracing many long days at work and many sleepless nights studying. I knew, in the end, it would pay off, but there were definitely days I had to push myself. I had to build confidence and gain knowledge. 

I had to change critical aspects of my thinking and my actions had to match- that is a challenge for everyone including myself. 

At one point I ended up getting so frustrated that I decided to dedicate every waking moment to learning how to be a successful investor and businessman. 

I wouldn’t be defeated by lack of knowledge.

I dove into “Creative Investing”. I knew if others were successful with it, I could be too.

I knew if I could learn how to buy and sell properties with little to no money, just like successful investors,

After endless hours of studying everything from real estate investing to learning HOW to speak to people, I mastered Creative Investing.

I was fortunate, along the way I found several mentors who helped me navigate through the up’s and downs of real estate investing. They shared with me their path to success and helped me avoid their mistakes.

There was true value in what I learned, and I vowed to pay it forward. I knew when I became a success, I would help others do the same.

Before I knew it, I was able to buy and sell any house without an agent, no matter what the price, neighborhood or market conditions, easier and faster than hiring a broker and paying their outrageous commissions.

I was a successful Real Estate Investor.

I started to teach other people who wanted to be Real Estate Investors.

As a result of all this I was able to achieve the following:

Within a few months I had gained the confidence and knowledge needed to wholesale several houses and was able to quit my job and start investing full time.

I learned how to structure deals and learned how to have effective conversations with homeowners. I learned how to spot deals and how to create win/ win situations for all parties involved. Success began to flow effortlessly.

And in the end, all of this means I’m now able to help people build their dreams while creating a financially secure future for my family...
